Another Trivial Tip

Repairing digital gear! make sure you are not charged with static when removing / inserting / handling these devices, "no earth strap handy," then here is a quickfire method to test if you are charged, i can usually tell when i waken in a police cell early morning, enough of this nonsense! here is a simple method to test for static, 1 wire coat hanger undo then form a circular base of say 4inch diameter, then the remainder can be bent in the verticle, say 6inches then bend this at right angles to reach the outer circular base.. attach some common thread to hang down free, place hand gradually towards the hanging thread, if attracted to your hand then you are charged

alternatively,.. quick bench trick, unwind some solder from reel and form the simple structure as stated
